OUR STORY

Welcome to The Fort Hall Veterans Organization, a proud tribal veteran group based in Fort Hall, Idaho. Our roots trace back to the post-Vietnam era when a group of Vietnam veterans came together with a shared mission: to provide ceremonial services and connect local veterans with the V.A. (Veterans Affairs). While no official records exist regarding the organization’s initial formation—since it was neither a business nor a nonprofit until 2025—our legacy has always been one of service and dedication to the Fort Hall community. For decades, veterans from the Fort Hall Indian Reservation have volunteered tirelessly, supported in part by funding from the tribal council. In 2023, a small group of veterans envisioned a future where the organization could operate more independently and expand its impact, leading to the ongoing transformation you see today.

OUR VISION

Our vision is to provide veteran services, information, and help them to find purpose once they leave the military. We want to give going-away and welcoming-home ceremonies, provide color guard for cultural events, hold community events, assist local businesses, and continue our long tradition established by those who came before us.

Some of our annual events we hold and partake in consist of Pow-wow color guard for schools and special events, funeral honors, memorial day fun-runs and veteran grave clean-up, 4th of July BBQs, Fort Hall Annual Festival and Parade, Veteran Day recognition and pow-wow,  and our local Christmas Parade of Lights parade. All of these events help promote our presence within the community we serve and others directly impact our community veterans and families. We also work with other veteran non-profits from neighboring cities, as well as the V.A. by helping each other share important information.
